About Support Services

UCP of Georgia offers support services to ensure the health, safety and wellness of the people who participate in our services. Support services include:

  • Nursing Support – We believe that quality health care and prevention activities are central to the well-being of those we support. UCP of Georgia’s nurse case managers work with the people enrolled in services, their families, physicians and the UCP interdisciplinary team to ensure ongoing access to community-based medical and dental care.
  • Behavior Support – Helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve a Life Without Limits begins with supporting the whole person and engaging a support team of friends, family, and members of the UCP team to plan and work together to help a person reach their full potential. Some people benefit from the support of a behavioral plan and staff skilled in applied behavioral analysis to assist them in realizing their dreams.
  • Quality Improvement – Quality improvement plays a critical role in UCP of Georgia’s structure, supporting work that encourages individual and collective successes. To maintain excellent service and desired outcomes, every aspect of our work is reviewed, analyzed and refined to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Advocacy – UCP of Georgia assists individuals in navigating the state service system, provides ongoing advocacy related to rights, and negotiates with funders to support individual needs. This individualized advocacy work is supplemented by a strong public policy and legislative advocacy agenda to support UCP’s work and advocate on behalf of all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the state of Georgia.
  • Staff Development – UCP of Georgia engages quality team members and provides robust initial and ongoing training. UCP is committed to certifying that our entire staff has the essential skills and abilities to perform our work with confidence. Beyond basic skills training in areas like CPR, first aid and defensive driving along, UCP of Georgia provides up to date best practice training and staff education to remain a leader in quality service delivery.
