Dunwoody web designer Jay Kapp added a twist to his company’s go-cart entry in the recent Miller Lite charity Grand Prix held March 8 and 9 benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia (UCP).

A long-timeKapp Koncepts Go-Cart supporter and volunteer with UCP since losing his younger sister with Cerebral Palsy in 1988, Jay solicited his company’s clients as well as his personal friends for associate sponsorship dollars. In exchange, he added decals of participating companies along the side of the go-cart.

“I was thinking that we would get a handful of sponsors and raise an extra $300 for UCP,” said Kapp, owner of Kapp Koncepts, an interactive marketing firm specializing in web design and development. “After all was said and done, 16 of our clients and eight of our friends and associates came through. We received an additional $1200 in contributions for UCP.”

Among the participating associate sponsors were businesses and friends including DeckWright; Stone & Bellus, PC; Donner, Weiser, & Associates; Gifford, Hillegass, & Ingwersen; and Bob & Mary Ann Singel of Dunwoody; and Soholaunch of Sandy Springs.

This was Jay’s second year entering the race, which features go-carts designed to look like Indy cars at 1/3 scale. Six-horse-power lawnmower engines power the go-carts. The Kapp car finished 13th in this year’s race.
